With an impressive lineup that includes some of the world’s most infamous scoundrels, the Interactive section of SXSW is a must for anyone hoping to stay ahead of the major online trends that have the potential to effect all of us.

The *Real* Crowdfunding Investment

12:30PM – 1:30PM
Check this out if you’re at all interested in non-conventional fund raising. Info about new asset classes and potential investment opportunities are just the start. Chris Tyrrell of CrowdFund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates will lead the conversation and its sure to be eye-opening. Get to this session especially if you’re running a company out of Georgia or Kansas.

Transparency Reporting for Beginners

This is probably where you’ll find me tomorrow. Bart Volkmer the Legal Counsel at Dropbox will be one of the presenters and his take on cyber security should be pretty unique. Definitely a must see if you store data in the cloud as part of your business operations. If your company is using Google Apps, Dorothy Chou will be there giving Google’s take on PRISM and more. A must for anyone with an interest in social media disclosures.

Rich Web Experiences & the Future of the Web

2:00PM – 3:00PM
Slightly less intense than the early sessions, CJ Gammon of Adobe gets into what the web is providing creative professionals.

What Social Media Analytics Can’t Tell You

3:30PM – 4:30PM
A great question here: how do you fill in the gaps in your Social Media analytics? The premise being that even though you’ve got followers who are reading and socially engaged, they might not respond, for various reasons. The folks from Vision Critical did a great study on this last year and they’ll present their findings tomorrow. A must see if you want to be ready to answer Qs about Social Media ROI.

Hacking LinkedIn: The B2B Bible

3:30PM – 6:00PM
Nobody does enough work on LinkedIn, especially in Investor Relations. Which is shocking and thrilling all at the same time because there is just so much potential. However, LinkedIn is comparatively expensive as an online marketing platform. We’re hoping this session gives IROs some good tips for using their time on LinkedIn wisely. One word of caution, the presenters have spoken in the past about automating LinkedIn marketing, we’re not sure if this is a good idea as an Investor Relations strategy in 2014, but good to get the low down on it now anyway.

The Compelling Image in the Age of Social Media

3:30PM – 6:00PM
‘A hands-on session to guide creative image makers in making their photographs more effective for the Social Media environment.’ GO TO THIS!! It would be ideal if you could also send your CEO for a crash course in online branding strategy. But failing that, get enrolled in advance, grab a notepad, and get to work on your branding yourself as an IRO expert. IROs are critical investor relations tools and the investor relations industry massive under-utilizes them. See y’all there.

Evolution of Storytelling: Brands As Broadcasters

5:00PM – 6:00PM
A much lighter topic than PRISM, but one that should be useful for IROs who have content strategies in place. I don’t know much about Team Detroit, but it seems like a good session if you want to create content and educate your investors. If you have a media center on your website, this might be a good session to figure out how to feed it with quality content.
